PHASES OF PRODUCTION

EffoBooks that are available for syntactical tagging will be released gradually. Each book will go through two phases. The first phase of tagging will be done under stricter control and will not be open to the broader group of contributors. First, this will allow the editors and a few contributors to create a base line of tags that can be used to judge the work of new contributors. Second, this will allow the editors to have plenty of time to verify that the text and morphology used for the tagging is correct. The second phase will make the text of the book available for all approved contributors and the results will at that point be available for public viewing.

9. RELEASES

All books that have progressed into phase two will be available through web services to any user. Periodically the directors will release new distributions of the tags, at least in xml format for those who do not wish to use the data only through web services. How often distributions will be created is up to the directors, though users can always get the most up to date data through the web services interfaces. The data will be available for public use on the Biblical Studies Foundation website and/or the Lexel Software website.

10. UNIVERSAL AVAILABILITY

It is our desire to make this project available for anyone, whether they use a Windows, Mac, Linux, or handheld device. The data will be available through xml web services to anyone who desires to interface with the system. And since the occasional distributions will also be made in xml format, this also will keep cross-platform availability easy to maintain.

At the moment the software used to actually do the syntactical tagging is only available on the Windows platform. However, we have plans to create another tagging program using the Mono development platform, which runs on Windows, MacOSX, and Linux. But until the new tagging program is available, the Windows-based tagging program must be used
